i m back again! went pulau ubin with dear todae~ woke up at 8 in e morning and it was still raining .. luckily it stopped when while we were travelling there.. left hall at abt 830.. weihong yvonne cldnt join us coz they had something on.. dink it was my first time there.. and it was a cycling dae!! few months since i had a long cycling trip.. previous one was with classmates... nice feeling to be back to nature.. jus like the time i went with my family to cameron.. refreshing air... and real island getaway man.. get away from the city.. the polluted air we breathing everydae.. the busy city we face everydae.. concrete buildings ... fast pace here.. the good thing abt endulging in the beauty of nature is that u forget abt all ur problems.. worries.. anything at the back of ur mind... u jus put everything aside and enjoy wonderful moments with ur loved ones.. everyone may have diff ways of destressing .. some wld go to nature.. others club.. ktv.. anw cyling todae is fun and enriching! cycled ard the island and get the feel of kampong life.. jus like msia.. some of the houses there are like those in msia.. resembles my grandma's house..saw a few temples too... chickens.. dogs.. turtles in the ponds.. one of the temple was the German Girl Shrine... we went there to take a look coz dan said he heard a bit abt the gal's story.. she died when she was quite young.. abt 80 plus yrs ago.. it was during WW1.. she fell into a quarry while escaping.. after which pple buried her.. and many prayed for fortune... one of them struck lottery and to repay back .. he built the shrine for pple to remember her.. n give a proper place for pple to pray.. the surroundings are peaceful... nice patches of grass with a few dogs moving abt.. there was a newspaper article at the shrine.. it said though her bones were stolen.. pple still continued to travel all the way there to pray for good things.. another interesting place we stopped at was a house where a man in his 60s lives in... his family came to stay in mainland spore... he said he stayed there to grow herbs to save ppl's lives...czo spore cant grow.. he also sells drinks for a living.. amazing to see how pple love their simple life there though the place is rundown.. the customer service is superb too.. jus buying coconut drink there made us realise ubin is a place with world class service though its not at all modernized... shall come back soon.. sis wanna use comp...
