yeah!! went to watch death note 2 with dear todae.. well.. i must sae it has the most witty and intelligent plot among all movies i have watched in yr 2006...i sat up straight and paid more attention than eva for the entire 2 hour 30 mins... have been wanting to watch for a long long time .. though its jus onli abt 2-3months before when death note 1 was released..haha.. it was good so everyone was anticipating the release of the second one.. plus death note 1 ended with some scenes in death note 2 showing a more powerful kira who could kill jus by looking into a person's face.. i sae the plot is twisting and witty coz from the start till the end it jus sets u thinking and thinking...nothing is predictable..even till the last min of the show..u are still figuring out what happened before... and not sure if there is any more twist the next moment..

if u havent watched yet.. well the gist of it is this.. in death note 1.. this guy by the name light was given this book called the death note..the death note allows him to kill jus by writing the name of the person he wants to kill in the book..he cld write the cause of his death..if nt the person wld jus die of heart attack..he wanted a criminal free world so he made use of the book to kill criminals whom he felt ought to die instead of jus jailed..he usually kill when he hears news report abt the criminals on tv.. people out there know him as kira..there are people who support and oppose him... but the more he kill the more obsessed he became with killing... the police are all out to capture him, the culprit who is the murderer of all the criminals who died with no reason.. and light's father is also one of them in the investigating team.. to prevent himself from being discovered he even planned the deaths of all the top FBIs..killing innocent ppl.. wats more his own gf's death.. the reason for killing his own gf was to get sympathy and persuade his dad to allow him to join the investigating team to capture kira for avenge. the critical thing is that they have engaged this smart guy by the name L for help in catching kira.. L can anticipate his moves and has long raised suspicion of light..and even asked the dad to allow camera surveillance in the house and light's room to monitor light's moves.. however light is smart to fool the team by killing and yet not showing himself writing in the death note or getting in contact with media during his survellience..he cld fool everyone in the team but not L. L guessed that he killed when he was eating his chips in his room which was absolutely right! His packets of chips all contain a super mini tv which he got the news and names of criminals and he killed by writing the names in the slips of paper in the chips while eating at the same time..all these done right under survellience but the inside of the packets were in the direction such that the cameras cldnt capture..all they cld see from the police station was him eating away.. L knew it but wanted to gather more solid evidence..all these shows the wittiness in both guys and the fight between them...well light by getting into the team, wants to protect himself from being caught showing his innocence and at the same time spy on the investigating team..and death note 2 continues with L monitoring light and attempting to capture light while working with him in the same team.. this makes things interesting..

in death note 2...one of the main characters was the second kira who worships kira (light)as she felt he avenged for his family by killing the robber who robbed and killed his family when she was young..jus like wat i have said earlier she had more powers as she exchanged half of her life for the eyes of god of death which cld help her see the name of any person by looking at the face..hence making killing easier.. hence she killed many who opposed kira (light)by looking at the tv broadcasts as well.. those who reports news that does not put kira in favour or opposes kira will be killed..besides, policemen were not spared either.. the story goes on to show how she follows light's instructions in order to help him kill L.. and light manipulating the gods of death here and there..and distracting the investigating team's attention.. so as to prevent himself from being killed by the gal's god of death and ultimately to get rid of L who cld capture him eventually..he even tried to kill his own father .. this shows how obsessed he was and how cold he has become ..hee for the exact details i guess u shld go watch for urself now that it has jus been released.. guess i shldnt sae so much..for eg how come there is a second kira.. who else got the ownership of the book in the middle of the show.. and whose name was the last name in the death note.. how it all happened etc etc..

some thoughts that i gather from this movie... think in reality at some point in time we may be given heavy responsibilities that cld affect ppl ard us.. if we misuse them, " our special powers", we may harm innocent pple even our loved ones... the scariest thing is to be obsessed with doing the wrong thing..there are definitely people who have misused their special responsibilities and powers, making the wrong decisions that ended up in tragedies..wat do u think? this makes me recall superman... there is this saying.." With greater powers, comes greater responibilities." When we have the special powers we have even greater responsibilities to make sure we do not misuse them for our own advantage and at the expense of others.. and forget abt the main purpose of the special powers..in this case i feel the death note is better not to be used if i happen to come across it.. or if i own it.. i wld bury it away so that it wld not land in people who abuse it.. if i realli got to give it to someone else i wld have to give it to someone who wld not be the next kira..actually light's aim is to create a criminal free world and he is jus getting rid of baddies..he meant a good cause.. but it came with a great cost and light paid a price..so is he right or wrong? well i guess its debatable..some sae murder is still murder no matter if he kills a criminal or not..some sae he is killing baddies which is doing justice..well wat do u feel?

in addition to my previous entry..i m back with more christmas trees.. beautiful trees at vivocity.. can realli fight with paragon's star tree... big and mesmerising.. wonder which shopping centre wins the deco competition this yr...:)

simple design..making use of purple, silver and black balls.. and when the lights came on.. it is jus so pretty... and if u realise at the top of almost all christmas trees would be a stAr.. and i like that!!



the smaller trees below are jus so cute.. the trees are simple with few colours yet the "tReesome" stand out from far.. they jus attract so many visitors' attention.. appealing for photo taking sessions.. haha..

even harbourfront centre has such a nice tree!!! made of bears this time.. thus one of the more unique ones we have come across this festive season..:) the lights look like small stars in the photos if u notice..:)

the previous saturday was my second time at the bukit timah hill.. years after my first time there during my pri sch yrs.. cant realli recall when it was .. dink it was my pri 5 camp.. :) went there with my family yest morning.. good time to sweat out man.. hee.. long time neva jog i guess.. thighs a little tight now.. we took the second longest route to the "summit" .. many steps at several locations.. well it was realli nice to spend some quality time with my family at the nature reserve.. breathing in fresh air and seeing monkeys climbing here and there..haha.. there is quite a number there.. some rather small and cute:)

2nd week into hols~~ last week ended with me watching the annual stars award...haha.. its something that i usually wld not miss.. interesting to see wat the celebrities got to sae on stage.. and din expect the huang yi liang to spoil the event by saying stuff he shld not sae.. he mentioned giving his award to his ex wife..not sure if his intention was to insult her.. but dink there is something wrong with his eq or something.. the more he sae he is not out to embarrass her the more he is..alamak.. and this led the camera crew searching for her but guess she noes he wld insult her so she disappeared before he went up the stage.. i jus feel that he shld not have brought personal stuff to the stage lah.. ok..this is jus another example of people insulting others when they managed to achieve something.. i dink one learning point here is to accept honour gracefully.. not to be arrogant about it and worsestill use it to insult others..

well.. last last fri..met up with the gals and orchard is beautiful with the different kinds of christmas trees.. christmas is round the corner.. and it marks the end of an eventful 2006~~ wat do u wish for christmas? ;)

besides enjoying the christmas atmosphere, i think i gained weight through eating and feasting these 2 weeks.. oh no!! sakae sushi.. suski sushi buffet.. hehe.. but sushi is my fav!! think ate at least thrice in 1 mths' time!! see.. i am eating too much..bbq at pasir ris with dan and his buddies... and the most recent one is dim sum buffet at lao beijing with my dear uni frenz~~
